Concrete pillars found at a building in ghost town of Alpine, Washington. Pillars are about 4 feet high. I have taken a tape with me the last 3 times but I have failed to measure these pillars. There are 2 rows of pillars at this location. The set that is is higher on the hill are also taller, maybe 5 feet tall. The building is unidentified at this time, but my guess is that it may be the building called the Teacherage in one old Alpine photo. I assume a teacherage would be where the teacher would live. This building is within 25 feet of the school and, judging by the concrete structure, was built at about the same time as the 2nd room of the 2-room school. According to Elsie Tjerne this may be the gymnasium. Photo by Jackie Cuddy, May 14, 2009.
