Combined Snohomish County market capitalization is at a record 8.488 billion dollars on November 24, 2006. Market capitalization is calculated by multiplying the value of one share by the number of company shares outstanding. 8.488 billion dollars is more than 10 times the market capitalization of Snohomish County when the Abarim Snohomish County Stock Index began 12 years ago this week on November 21, 1994.

For inclusion in the Abarim Snohomish County Stock Index:

A company must have its headquarters in Snohomish County.
A company's shares must trade on a recognized exchange where quotes are always available by a computer online.
A company must be current in financial reporting to the SEC or other appropriate regulatory organization. A company's shares must trade over $1 per share. If a company's shares fall below $1 closing price for a calendar month it will be removed from the index. If a company's shares trade at or above $1 closing price for a calendar month it will be added to the index.
